Mason Transit Authority

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)

Program Goal effective October 1, 2017

(Not to exceed three calendar years)

Mason County Public Transportation Benefit Area, DBA Mason Transit Authority (MTA), in accordance with 49 CFR Part 26, hereby proposes an annual Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program (DBE) Goal of 1% for procurements assisted by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) beginning on October 1, 2017, remaining in effect for a three year period, per MTA’s established DBE Plan. It is the policy of MTA to ensure non-discrimination based on race, color, sex or national origin in the award of contracts. The purpose of the DBE Program is to create equitable conditions of full and fair participation for all vendors in the procurement process.   MTA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.  Interested parties may review the methodology used to determine the three year DBE goal for a minimum of forty-five (45) calendar days following the date of this notice during normal business hours at the administrative offices of Mason Transit Authority, at 790 E. Johns Prairie Road, Shelton, WA  98584 or by requesting information via email or phone using the contact information provided below.  MTA believes the DBE goal is aggressive due to the limited number of DBE certified vendors located within the concentration area of Mason and Thurston Counties in which MTA conducts the majority of its business.

Written comments regarding MTA’s DBE Goal may be submitted no later than forty five days from date of this notice.
